Weekly the volunteers of the NGO Remar in San José, Costa Rica travel weekly to the poorest areas of the city bringing food, snacks and hot drinks to dozens of people sleeping on the streets, many of them victims of extreme poverty, destitution or drug and alcohol problems.
Every week the volunteers of the NGO Remar provide these people with more than just food, but also with spiritual nourishment, sharing with them the word of God and words of encouragement, offering them the possibility of leaving their life on the streets, entering one of REMAR’s homes free of charge and embarking on a new path.
The NGO REMAR has been working in Costa Rica for more than 26 years improving the living conditions of men, women and children through homes and rehabilitation centers, giving love and help to those who need it most.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’” Matthew 25:35-36
