Remar Panama serving the third age

In Remar Panama we began our work in 1996, assisting people facing serious drug and alcohol addiction problems.

We also focused our efforts on restoring families and helping people living on the streets, as well as opening homes for the homeless elderly and caring for women and mothers with serious problems of social risk, abandonment and abuse, without economic possibilities or training in trades.

But since then the social work of Remar Panama has developed and evolved a lot, thanks to God first, and also to the efforts of volunteers and donations from companies, homes have been opened for the rehabilitation and restoration of people, and learning workshops and occupational workshops have been implemented that function as small businesses to help support the work.

We thank God for the work of Dr. Ronyel Roberto Rudas Olmos, for his love and willingness to help the needy. Dr. Ronyel visits the elderly who live in the Hogar El Buen Samaritano of the Remar Panama Association, not only attending to their medical needs, but also taking basic necessities, and most importantly transmitting to the elderly a lot of love. The doctor’s visits bring joy to the elderly.

We are also very grateful to the company @rocayolsafety for the donation of boots, which are being distributed to all those who participate in the occupational workshops of Remar Panama, and especially in the recyclamania workshop, a novel workshop where they work with recycling. In this workshop, the inmates of Remar, while going through the process of restoring their lives, perform recycling tasks and learn a useful trade.

Remar Panama has also carried out projects in collaboration with municipalities in the country, for the care of people living on the streets, with the aim of restoration and reintegration of people.
