Being a volunteer, a task that changes lives

“I have shown you in all things that, working in this way, one must help the needy and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, who said: It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35

Volunteering is a selfless endeavor that springs from the heart. REMAR volunteers dedicate their time and effort to assist the most vulnerable in 70 countries around the world. Their work is a story of love, compassion, and solidarity that makes the world a better place.

Volunteering, a labor of love and solidarity

The United Nations has declared December 5 as the International Volunteer Day to highlight the work that thousands of people perform worldwide, a compassionate effort to provide aid to those in need.

On International Volunteer Day, the NGO REMAR emphasizes the selfless work of its thousands of volunteers worldwide. These volunteers devote their lives out of love for God and neighbor, regardless of their race, culture, age, or means of livelihood.

REMAR Volunteering: Tireless work

The REMAR NGO has been working for over 40 years to support the most vulnerable in 70 countries worldwide. REMAR volunteers tirelessly dedicate their lives, time, and attention to help those in need.

By joining REMAR, volunteers not only offer their time but also immerse themselves in a unique experience. REMAR provides opportunities to participate in various projects, educational programs, and community development. Volunteers not only provide assistance but also become agents of change, contributing to building a more just and equitable world.

Areas of action for REMAR volunteers:

  1. Reception, care, and education of high-risk children: REMAR volunteers work with children victims of poverty, orphanhood, wars, violence, and abuse. They provide them with a home, food, education, and love.
  2. Food assistance: REMAR volunteers operate in dozens of soup kitchens to feed those in need.
  3. Humanitarian aid: REMAR sends tens of containers of humanitarian aid annually through its volunteers to poor countries affected by natural disasters or armed conflicts.
  4. Assistance to vulnerable individuals: REMAR volunteers also assist vulnerable individuals such as the elderly, disabled people, and the homeless, offering them shelter, food, and social care.
  5. Assistance through REMAR SOS: REMAR highlights the brave work of REMAR SOS volunteers in war-torn places like Ukraine and in countries devastated by natural disasters such as Turkey, Libya, and Mexico. REMAR SOS volunteers not only provide material aid but also bring comfort and hope to those facing heartbreaking situations. REMAR SOS operates in the heart of the most vulnerable areas, providing emotional support, food assistance, and essential resources to alleviate the suffering of entire communities.
  6. Social reintegration: REMAR volunteers work with individuals struggling with addictions, helping them overcome their dependencies, recover their lives, and start anew.

On International Volunteer Day, the REMAR ONG celebrates the selfless work of its volunteers, who work with love, generosity, and compassion 365 days a year, dedicating their time and effort to help those in need.
