A Container of Hope for Togo

A gesture of love and solidarity that provides support to the most disadvantaged in a country plagued by poverty and hunger

Togo: A Battle Against Poverty and Hunger

Togo, a small country in West Africa, is engaged in a heartbreaking battle against poverty and hunger. According to the World Bank, it ranks tenth among the poorest nations on the planet, with 55% of its population living below the poverty line. This figure translates to more than 3 million people suffering from deprivation in their basic needs, such as food, housing, health, and education.

Food insecurity is another scourge plaguing Togo. More than half of the population lacks access to safe and nutritious food, leading to serious health consequences, especially in children and pregnant women.

A Symbol of Hope and Solidarity

Amidst this critical situation, there is hope. Children, youth, and adults living in the foster homes of the NGO REMAR in Togo gathered with great joy to receive the container sent by REMAR Spain, loaded with non-perishable food items, construction materials, toys, clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and school supplies, among others.

A Gesture of Love That Transforms Lives

This container represents an opportunity to improve living conditions, provide support, and sustainability to the foster homes that the REMAR NGO operates in the country. This container is a symbol of hope and solidarity, a gesture of love that shows the community they are not alone, that there are people who care about their well-being, and who are willing to help them build a better future.

An Oasis of Hope in a Country Plagued by Poverty

Since 2000, REMAR has been a beacon of light for the most disadvantaged in Togo, a country facing a tough battle against poverty and hunger. Its tireless work spans various fronts, providing assistance and support to people living in extremely needy situations.

Homes for Minors and Youth

Homes for Minors: Children aged 6 to 19 find a safe haven in these homes, where they attend school and participate in training workshops that provide them with tools for a better future. A home in Adidogomé welcomes abandoned babies, providing them with the love and care they need to thrive.

Youth Homes: In Agou, a home offers a second chance to young people struggling with abandonment and addictions. Through a comprehensive program, they receive support to overcome their difficulties and reintegrate into society.

Homes for Families and Farms

Homes for Families: Families in situations of marginalization, malnutrition, and extreme poverty find shelter and a fresh start in the homes for couples and families.

Farms: Two farms, one in Lomé and another in Kara, offer training and job opportunities to people seeking to move forward.

An Inspiring Mission

REMAR Togo’s goal is clear: to transmit love and help people overcome drugs, poverty, and other problems. Its comprehensive approach is based on human dignity, providing emotional, spiritual, and material support to those most in need.

Beyond numbers and statistics, REMAR Togo represents an oasis of hope in a country marked by poverty. Its daily work transforms lives, providing opportunities and a brighter future for those who have been forgotten by society.
