On the cold winter nights in Iquique, REMAR Iquique provides a hug of solidarity and a message of hope to those who need it most through the Ángeles de la Noche program. Discover how you can help transform lives
On the cold winter nights in Iquique, when temperatures drop considerably, the work of REMAR volunteers in that city, with the Angels of the Night Program, becomes even more crucial. Every week, they travel to a different corner of the poorest areas of the city, bringing a bowl of hot soup, comforting drinks and, above all, a message of hope and faith to those who need it most.
With selflessness and affection, REMAR Iquique volunteers not only deliver physical food, but also a supportive hug and a word of faith that provides a little light in the midst of darkness. For men, women, young people and the elderly who live on the streets, the visit of the Angels of the Night represents hope in the midst of destitution and difficulties.
The harsh winter in the streets: A call for solidarity
The cold winter nights not only represent a drop in temperatures, but a constant fight against hunger, lack of resources, and lack of safe shelter. Homeless people, many of them struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and extreme poverty, face a heartbreaking reality: the cold bites to the bone, the search for food becomes even more difficult, and hope of a better future seems to fade into the winter mist.
More than a bowl of soup: an opportunity for a new beginning
Beyond immediate help, REMAR Iquique offers these people in vulnerable situations the opportunity to transform their lives. REMAR Iquique has shelters where people who wish can begin a process of rehabilitation and social reintegration to leave life on the streets, drugs and homelessness behind, and find a new path full of possibilities.
