Circular Economy in Motion: REMAR Bolivia Opens Recycling Plant

A step towards green entrepreneurship, promoting social rehabilitation, environmental awareness and positive impact on more than 2,373 people trained in Viacha, La Paz

Inauguration of the Recycling Plant in Viacha

REMAR Bolivia has taken a significant step towards sustainability with the inauguration of its project “Circular Economy towards a Green Entrepreneurship in Communities of the Municipality of Viacha, La Paz”. At the “Villa Esperanza” Men’s Center, the opening of a fully equipped recycling plant was celebrated, designed to mitigate the negative environmental impact in the region.

This facility also functions as an occupational therapy space, allowing the rehabilitation center’s inmates to actively participate in activities that not only promote their rehabilitation, but also their social reintegration.

Training and Environmental Awareness

The impact of this project is not limited to the center’s inmates. More than 2,373 people, including teachers, primary and secondary school students from four educational units, military personnel and cleaning staff from the Autonomous Municipal Government of Viacha, have been trained in recycling, reuse and solid waste reduction.

Participating educational units, such as Viliroco “A” and “B”, Batalla de Ingavi and Mariscal José Ballivián, have demonstrated their commitment through the RRREMI GAMES contest, in which students presented innovative projects and competed by collecting PET bottles. The winning educational unit received awards for its outstanding contribution.

A Project with Collaborative Impact

This project has been possible thanks to the valuable support of KIA – EOM and REMAR Spain, whose contributions enabled the implementation of this initiative. The community of Viacha and the “Villa Esperanza” Rehabilitation Center deeply appreciate their commitment and generosity.

“We thank our Lord Jesus Christ because all good things come from Him, thanks to His goodness and mercy. God bless all those involved!” said the representatives of the NGO REMAR in Bolivia.

REMAR Bolivia brings faith and hope to inmates

REMAR Bolivia not only works on projects with environmental impact, but also on humanitarian actions. Periodically, volunteers visit prisons bringing food, hot meals and, most importantly, words of encouragement and a message of faith. This work reinforces the mission of providing hope to those who need it most, strengthening their spirit and helping them find a renewed purpose in their lives.
