The NGO expands its social and nutritional assistance program to combat hunger in the region, through the inauguration of a new Soup House to provide daily help to more than 600 families
The NGO REMAR Brasil celebrated the inauguration of a new Soup House in the city of Guarulhos. The event marked by joy and solidarity, was attended by local authorities, representatives of REMAR Brazil, sponsors and community members, marking an important step in the fight against hunger and food insecurity in the region.
A commitment to the communities most in need
The main objective of REMAR Brazil’s Casas da Sopa program is to offer social and nutritional assistance to the most vulnerable communities. The initiative is already present in various regions of the country, including São Paulo, Paraná and Minas Gerais, and continues to expand to reach more families that need support.
The new Casa da Sopa in Guarulhos was designed to serve 600 families per day, offering 500 nightly meals in a large room with seating capacity for 200 people. In addition, the unit will distribute 3 tons of fruits, vegetables and legumes daily to people in need in the community, reinforcing Remar Brasil’s commitment to food security and the well-being of the most vulnerable families.
