REMAR SOS and Messengers of Peace have been at the side of the most vulnerable in Romania, offering shelter and comprehensive assistance, intensifying their support to the victims of the recent floods that have left many families in critical situations
Following the devastating floods that have severely affected south-east Romania, REMAR SOS and Messengers of Peace continue to fulfil their commitment to stand by the most disadvantaged. In this new phase of response, both teams continue to distribute hundreds of boxes of food and essential products to families who have lost everything due to the disaster.
In addition to food, beds, mattresses and other emergency products are being delivered to provide the victims with what they need to cope with the harsh conditions they are in. Many families have been left homeless and the work of REMAR SOS is crucial to help them regain a minimum of stability in the midst of this crisis.
A Constant Response to the Emergency
The work of REMAR SOS does not stop. With each passing day, more people receive the help they so desperately need. This humanitarian response includes the distribution of food, the provision of basic products and, above all, support for those who have lost everything. The situation in the most affected areas remains critical, but thanks to the joint efforts of REMAR SOS and Messengers of Peace, hundreds of victims are receiving immediate support.
“We are not only providing emergency supplies, we are also bringing a message of hope to families who have lost everything. We will remain here as long as necessary,” said REMAR SOS volunteers from one of the aid points in the most affected areas.

REMAR Romania: 19 Years of Solidarity and Hope
Since its arrival in Romania in 2005, REMAR has worked tirelessly to provide comprehensive and free help to those who need it most. The first step in this work began in Oradea, a city in the north of the country, where, with the support of REMAR Spain, a house was purchased to accommodate people without resources. This home was the beginning of a commitment to the most disadvantaged, providing shelter and hope to those who lacked everything.
Free Shelters and Comprehensive Care
Today, REMAR Romania has free shelters where many people are cared for on a full-time basis. These homes accommodate men and women with addiction problems, minors at risk, mothers with children, the elderly, and vulnerable people. The aim is to provide them not only with a place to live, but also with a supportive environment that allows them to rehabilitate and have a new start.
Support for Ukraine
In addition to its work in Romania, REMAR has extended its helping hand to Ukraine, sending teams of volunteers to directly assist in the humanitarian crisis that the country is going through. Through this effort, REMAR Romania joins the international support that seeks to offer assistance and hope to Ukrainians who have been affected by the conflict.
