The NGO REMAR in Cape Verde filled the hearts of dozens of children with joy and laughter on the occasion of Children’s Day, with a great party held in the Solidarity Kitchen located in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the town.
Very early on, the children arrived at the dining room with great enthusiasm, eager to participate in a day full of games, contests, snacks and lots of fun. The REMAR volunteers, with a lot of love and dedication, prepared every detail to make this day unforgettable for the little ones.
In addition to the entertaining activities, each child received a special gift, carefully selected according to their age and gender. They were also given candy and some food to take home. The children who attended the party come from low-income families who live in the neighborhoods near where REMAR Cabo Verde has its homes and support centers.

An oasis of hope for those most in need
In the heart of Cape Verde, Africa, the NGO REMAR offers a refuge of hope and food through the Solidarity Kitchen that operates in its facilities. Every day, dozens of children, mothers and families find in this space a plate of hot food, served with love and dedication by REMAR volunteer missionaries.
Beyond basic nutrition, the REMAR Solidarity Kitchen seeks to provide comprehensive support to the people who attend. The basic baskets that are delivered weekly, with basic necessities, help alleviate the financial burden of families and allow them to have food for the rest of the week.
A meeting and support space
The Solidarity Kitchen is not limited to offering food, but also becomes a meeting and support space for people in the neighborhood who face difficulties. In an environment marked by poverty and precariousness, this dining room represents an oasis of hope and solidarity.
Children who come to the dining room find not only food for the body, but also for the soul. They learn Christian songs that warm their hearts and receive words of hope, encouragement and good news. Mothers and families who attend regularly find in this space a place to share their concerns and receive the emotional support they so need.
The work of REMAR Cabo Verde in the Solidarity Kitchen is a reflection of its commitment to those most in need. REMAR seeks to provide them not only with food and material support, but also with hope and the opportunity to build a better future.
