At REMAR, we join the celebration of International Environment Day, a crucial date to remember the responsibility we share as citizens of the world to take care of our common home. Since 1972, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed June 5 as International Environment Day. This date invites us to reflect on the impact of our actions on the planet and to take urgent measures to protect it.
Our work for the environment
At REMAR, we have been working in Spain and 70 countries around the world for more than 40 years, with a firm commitment to environmental sustainability. Through various programs and projects, we seek to reduce our impact on the planet and contribute to a greener future.
Recycling and reuse: A fundamental pillar
One of our fundamental pillars is recycling and reuse. We collaborate with companies dedicated to recycling in several countries, and we also work every day collecting used furniture, clothing, footwear, materials and various belongings. These materials, which would otherwise end up in landfills, are used and converted into very useful resources for people in need.
RECYCLING: An example of our work
A prominent example of our work is the RECICLAMANIA program, one of REMAR’s largest projects in Panama City. In this program, we are pioneers in the management of all types of recyclable materials, such as cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, etc. We have created a company with all legal permits and we work tirelessly to create environmental awareness and responsibility in all people who participate in the program.
The motto “DON’T THROW ANYTHING”: our motto for recycling
At REMAR, we are convinced that each person plays a fundamental role in caring for the environment. For this reason, we promote the motto “DON’T THROW ANYTHING”, encouraging the population to make the most of resources and avoid unnecessary waste. Through our actions, we not only contribute to a more sustainable planet, but we also help the most vulnerable people.
