REMAR Burkina: XXIII International Congress and 30 Years Transforming Lives

REMAR Burkina Faso celebrates its XXIII International Congress and 30th anniversary, a celebration of love and unity with the motto ‘Mantle of Joy’. A time of renewal and commitment to continue working for those most in need.

Under the motto “Mantle of Joy”, REMAR Burkina Faso celebrated a great celebration of love, unity and faith, marking two important events: the XXIII REMAR International Congress and the 30th anniversary of REMAR in Burkina Faso. This special event took place at the REMAR Nioko 2 Grand Welcome Center in Ouagadougou on 17, 18 and 19 January 2025.

The congress was attended by the Pastor and President of REMAR NGO, Miguel Díez, and his wife, Mari Carmen Jiménez, who travelled from Spain to share this significant moment. Pastors and missionary delegations from West Africa also attended, representing countries such as the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali, Benin and Nigeria, together with the host pastors from Burkina Faso and REMAR Switzerland.

Three Days of Unity and Blessing

The celebration was marked by three days of praise, worship and the word of God, filling the attendees with blessing. It was an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and renew the commitment to the mission of serving the most vulnerable. The participation of the children, with their joy and enthusiasm, added a special touch that filled the hearts of all those present with joy.

Celebrating 30 Years of REMAR Burkina Faso

The closing of the event was particularly emotional, with a great celebration for the   30 years of REMAR Burkina Faso. This moment of joy included praise, words of gratitude to God, prayer for the workers and those responsible who work day after day in this project, and thanks to God for the work that REMAR has developed in these three decades in favor of thousands of lives in the poorest communities of this country.

The presence of international and national leaders, together with the active participation of the attendees, turned this congress into a true celebration of love and unity. It was a time to encourage and renew the commitment to those most in need, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of participating.

REMAR Burkina: 30 Years of Serving with Love and Hope

REMAR Burkina Faso began its work in 1994, extending its support to the most vulnerable, especially children and families at risk. Today, the NGO operates in several localities, providing protective homes, shelter and free education.

In response to the growing need to support internally displaced students and vulnerable families, REMAR operates two free primary schools in the peripheral districts of Ouagadougou: Nioko 2 and Lanoayiri.

These centres offer education and hope to hundreds of children who would otherwise not have access to school. Through its work, REMAR Burkina Faso continues to work to change lives and build a better future for those who need it most.
