REMAR Chile, rebuilding lives with love and solidarity

More than 3 months after the fires, REMAR continues to provide help and a message of faith to the affected communities

“The Lord is good, a safe refuge when difficulties come. He is close to those who trust in him.” Nahum 1:7

Several months have passed since the devastating fires that hit the region of Viña del Mar, a city northeast of Santiago de Chile, province and region of Valparaíso, leaving a balance of more than 130 people dead and more than 3,000 thousand homes reduced to ashes. However, the NGO REMAR Chile continues to work tirelessly to provide help to affected communities.

Delivery of food and essential items

Aware of the urgent needs of the population, REMAR volunteers have periodically organized the delivery of boxes with non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, clothing, sheets and blankets. On this occasion, in the town of Villa Independencia, in addition to the boxes, they have prepared a hot meal to distribute to all the people who live in that sector. This help has been essential for hundreds of families who have lost everything in the fires and who still do not have the means to meet their basic needs.

A hot dish and a message of hope

Along with the delivery of groceries, REMAR has also organized a soup kitchen in the Villa El Olivar sector,   where dozens of people receive a hot plate of food prepared with dedication and love every day. This gesture of kindness is not only physical nourishment,   but also for the spirit, offering a moment of comfort and hope in the midst of adversity.

A message of faith and comfort

Beyond material help, REMAR seeks to provide spiritual support to the victims of the tragedy. With words full of compassion, REMAR volunteers in Chile have reminded people that they are not alone in these difficult times. They have transmitted the message of God’s love and hope not to lose faith, because there is a better future ahead.

Gratitude and   call for solidarity

Our gratitude to the companies and people with caring hearts who have collaborated from the first moment of the emergency and continue to collaborate to make these deliveries of food and basic necessities to the populations most in need possible.

Remar en Chile calls on the community to join its relief efforts. Donations of food, clothing, personal hygiene items and building materials are needed to continue supporting affected families.

The Viña del Mar tragedy reminds us of the importance of solidarity and mutual support. Thanks to the tireless work of missionaries and volunteers, hope is reborn in the midst of the ashes. With everyone’s joint efforts, we will be able to rebuild the affected communities and provide a better future for the families who have lost so much.

A continuous commitment

REMAR in Chile reiterates its commitment to continue providing regular aid to the most affected areas. Aware that there is still much to do and that many people continue to live in precarious conditions.
