A commitment to vulnerable communities, REMAR Guatemala provides assistance to families in extreme poverty
Relief for Families in Need
REMAR SOS Guatemala, in its unwavering commitment to the most vulnerable communities, carried out a day of food delivery at the facilities of the Children’s City, located in the town of San José Villa Nueva.
The REMAR initiative, in a spirit of solidarity and mutual support, provided assistance to dozens of families in the area, who benefited from the distribution of boxes containing basic necessities, such as non-perishable food, eggs and other essential items.
Fundamental Support for a Community in Need
During the day, long lines of people were observed to receive this valuable aid, a reflection of the situation of precariousness and extreme poverty that affects a significant sector of the population in San José Villa Nueva.
It is important to highlight that this town faces a high poverty rate, which generates serious difficulties for many families who lack the basic resources to cover their food and survival needs.
REMAR Guatemala: A commitment to those most in need
REMAR Guatemala is not only limited to the delivery of material aid, but also offers a wide range of support and assistance services to people in various risk situations, including:
- People with addiction problems
- Families in extreme poverty
- Children at risk of abandonment or exploitation
- Children living on the street
- Adolescents and women who suffer violence or discrimination
- Young single mothers with children
- People of the Third Age
A fundamental pillar in community education:
It is worth highlighting the work carried out by the NGO REMAR Guatemala in the town of San José Villa Nueva through its two educational institutions, Colegio Cristiano El Olivo 1 and 2. For more than 25 years, these two schools have provided quality education to children and young people who live under protection in REMAR homes, as well as to children and young people from low-income families who reside in nearby areas.
Colegio Cristiano El Olivo offers education at all levels, from pre-primary to high school, with a focus on the comprehensive education of its students, instilling Christian values in them and preparing them to be useful citizens of Guatemalan society. Throughout its history, the school has graduated hundreds of young professionals who have contributed positively to the development of their community and the country.
The educational work of REMAR SOS Guatemala adds to its commitment to the well-being of people in vulnerable situations, offering hope and a better future for new generations.
