Volunteers offer comfort and support to those waiting for news of their interned relatives, while REMAR extends its social work throughout the country
The volunteers of the NGO REMAR México in the city of Guadalajara have undertaken an initiative full of compassion and solidarity, bringing snacks and words of encouragement to people waiting for news of their relatives hospitalized at the Regional General Hospital #46 of the IMSS.
On the outskirts of the hospital, where uncertainty and anguish mix with waiting, REMAR volunteers offer comfort and support. With a warm smile and words of faith and hope, they deliver snacks to those who need it most, especially those who come from other cities and lack the resources to feed themselves during their long wait.
Helping hands and words of encouragement
“It is a crucial moment for these families,” explains a representative of REMAR México in Guadalajara. “Your loved ones are sick, and waiting for diagnoses, results and news can be distressing. “We want to offer them a little relief, a brotherly hug and the certainty that they are not alone.”
The REMAR initiative not only provides material support, but also a space for listening and emotional support. Volunteers share inspiring stories, pray for people, and give them words of encouragement that comfort the soul and renew hope in the midst of difficulty.
This solidarity action is added to the various programs that REMAR carries out in the city, including support for people with addictions, women in vulnerable situations, boys and girls at risk, and low-income families.
