Following the devastating floods of 29 October in Valencia, REMAR has deployed its team of volunteers to provide assistance, food and support in the most affected areas
On October 29, a severe DANA (Isolated Depression at High Levels) affected several areas of Spain, and Valencia was one of the most affected communities. Severe flooding inundated streets and homes, leaving many families in an emergency situation and in dire need of immediate assistance. In response to this tragedy, the NGO REMAR activated its humanitarian aid program REMAR SOS, mobilizing resources and volunteers to assist the affected communities and contribute to their restoration.
Distribution of food, water, clothing, hygiene items: Volunteers in Action
Since the early hours, REMAR teams have worked tirelessly in Paiporta, Sedaví, Catarroja and Alfafar, distributing food, water and other essential resources. In addition, aid tents have been set up to create safe and accessible points for all affected people. Among the initiatives carried out, the distribution of food and water stands out, a daily effort to ensure that the most affected families can access the essentials.
Collaboration with the Royal Guard in Alfafar to Distribute Resources and Hope
Recently, the Royal Guard of Madrid joined our team in Alfafar, Valencia, on a day of collaboration and support for local families. During this visit, our volunteers and the Royal Guard brought not only resources such as food and water, but also a message of hope and solidarity. This collaboration symbolizes the joining of efforts of different organizations and people committed to helping in these difficult times.
Volunteers in Paiporta: A Team Committed to the Emergency
Other recent achievements include the acquisition of seven motor pumps to help residents of Paiporta drain the water that is still flooding many buildings and homes. In addition, more than 500 hot meals have been distributed to affected people, clothing has been handed out and unblocking work has been carried out, helping every person who needs a helping hand.
Every action carried out by REMAR in Valencia reinforces our commitment to those who are experiencing difficulties. Through the joint efforts of our volunteers and the collaboration of the community, we are making the reconstruction and restoration process move forward one step further.
