Gratitude as the essence of service at REMAR USA
Gratitude at REMAR USA isn’t limited to one day a year. It’s a value lived daily, an attitude that drives us to serve with love, share with joy, and remember that every life restored is a reason to thank God.
In the United States, where social needs are growing and millions of people face vulnerable situations, REMAR has been working since 1992 as a light in the midst of difficulty, offering food, support, spiritual accompaniment and real opportunities for life change and new beginnings.
The Good Neighbor: gratitude shared with thousands of families
In 2025, the “Good Neighbor” initiative once again served as an expression and demonstration of love and solidarity. Thanks to the support of social aid organizations, friends, and collaborators with compassionate hearts, REMAR USA distributed 100 turkeys and more than 200 boxes of fresh food to low-income families.
More than numbers, these are real stories: homes that received supplies, a joy, more than just a meal on their table to share with family, peace of mind and a reminder that they are not alone.
This is how gratitude is experienced within REMAR USA
Each year, the REMAR community in the USA gathers to celebrate a special time of thanksgiving to God:
- A traditional menu is prepared with turkey, rice, salad, the classic sweet potato and other seasonal dishes.
- Missionaries, volunteers, and those who are part of REMAR USA work like one big family to have everything ready.
- In the evening they share a dinner where they pray and share a Word, give thanks to the Lord and celebrate as a family.
- It is a spiritual, family-oriented and hopeful gathering, where each person participating in this special time recognizes that God has been faithful.
More than 30 years of service: a work that restores lives
Since 1992, REMAR USA has been serving people at risk through:
- Rehabilitation and support programs
- Social support and food distribution
- Evangelism and humanitarian aid containers
- Outreach to homeless people in Miami
Each week, many people receive spiritual assistance, food, and a word of encouragement.
Oakshade of Hope Ranch: A refuge where God restores
In Montura, Florida, lies Oakshade of Hope Ranch, a space dedicated to the rehabilitation of men struggling with addiction. There, in a natural setting, men in recovery discover:
- Responsibility through daily tasks
- Change of habits
- Spiritual strengthening through devotional times
- Occupational therapy through work in nature, garden, and farm.
A place where the Lord breaks chains, heals hearts, and opens paths of restoration.
