Remar Honduras is starting a catering workshop to train young people who have grown up in foster homes in this trade. They are learning to make bread and typical Honduran dishes, and to market and serve them in a cafeteria, which involves managing their own business.
The home that is participating in this workshop is the Ejército de paz home in the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa. At the moment, training has begun with a group of 15 young women.
In this way, the girls learn a trade, are trained, and develop their talents. The cafeteria project has been possible thanks to Unitec, University of Honduras, whom we would like to thank for their valuable participation and collaboration in the development of the project, by training and guiding us to be able to set up the kitchen, and giving us the food handling workshop.
The teacher of the hotel workshop is a fruit of Remar’s work. She is a young woman who as a child was taken into Remar’s homes because her family was broken up and could not take care of her. When she was 15 years old she returned to live with her family, who had already resolved her family situation, and now she wants, in gratitude, to collaborate in this way, training other young women.
We also thank her for her involvement in the project, and we thank God who restores and transforms lives. With joy and encouragement we continue with this project, and we are grateful to be able to see the fruit of the work and the work of God and to see how there is a change in the lives of girls and young women.
