REMAR Panama participates in UIP activities to promote volunteerism and Good Deeds Day
“Do not refuse to do good to whom it is due, when you have the power to do so.” Proverbs 3:27
The NGO REMAR Panama participated in an activity organized by the Inter-American University of Panama (UIP) with the aim of promoting volunteerism and celebrating the next Good Deeds Day, which will be celebrated on April 14, 2024.
Good Deeds Day: an annual tradition to inspire charitable action
Good Deeds Day is an annual tradition that seeks to inspire people around the world to take selfless actions to improve the lives of others. On this occasion, the IPU brought together different associations to promote the spirit of collaboration and solidarity.
Volunteers and missionaries from REMAR Panama were present at the activity, providing information to the young people and other attendees about the institution, its social aid programs and its RECICLAMANIA project.
RECICLAMANIA: a project that helps people in need and the environment
RECICLAMANIA is one of REMAR’s largest projects in Panama City. The initiative consists of the management of all types of recyclable material such as cardboard, paper, glass, plastic, etc. REMAR has created a company with all legal permits to manage this project, thus generating income that helps finance the Social Work that the organization carries out for hundreds of people in need, including people with addiction problems, the elderly, among others.
REMAR occupational workshops: an opportunity for social reintegration
The RECICLAMANIA workshop is one of the pilot workshops offered by REMAR as part of its occupational training programs. This workshop not only helps the social reintegration of the people who participate, but also raises awareness about the importance of caring for the environment.
REMAR’s participation in this activity organized by the UIP is an example of the organization’s commitment to promoting volunteerism and building a more just and supportive society.
